"The mission of LIA is to challenge students with quality

academics and character development in an immersive

bilingual and Christian value-based environment."

Dear visitor,

If you are looking for truly French/English bilingual international school with Christian values and a family environment, then Léman International Academy is here for you.  Sharing the deep conviction of our mission, our school team is daily seeking to serve the best interest of our students and their families in a spirit of excellence and confidence.

LIA opened in the fall of 2010 with a permit from the Geneva educational authorities and welcomes children ages 3 to 11.  Boys and girls, from all nationalities and all religious backgrounds, benefit each day from studying in lush and exceptionally peaceful surroundings within close proximity to the Geneva city-center.

At LIA, we are convinced that multilingualism is an important factor in the development of an individual.  We develop a program that allows for continued education in various systems, conforming to the Swiss curriculum framework, but also inspired by the French and North American programs.

With a long career in teaching and many years in school leadership, I have the privilege of overseeing this educational establishment where the Christian faith influences our pedagogy.  My colleagues and I share the same vision, the same values, and the same passion for teaching.

Developing a school is a great and beautiful adventure; the satisfaction of our students and their families is a magnificent reward.

If this project interests you, I invite you to contact us, to come meet us.

A new international school in Geneva offering bilingual Christian education

LIA scores high in nationwide math contest

As part of an effort to challenge our math-eager students, all LIA pupils of grades 5P, 6P and 7P were enrolled and participated in the first round of the nationwide Pangea math competition on Thursday, March 16th.

The competition aims to develop children's interest in mathematics and combines pleasure with deep thinking, logic and a bit of strategy.

Our young mathematicians did really well! One of them, Oscar Martel-Welsh, made it to the Swiss finals held in Renens (near Lausanne), where he competed against 80 other children of the same level on Saturday, May 13th.

The results were published on Saturday, June 3rd. Oscar finished in 46th position of the Swiss national competition, out of 476 participants. He had come 2nd in the preliminaries for French-speaking Switzerland. Way to go, Oscar!
