A SCHOOL - A TEAM
Léman International Academy first opened its doors in Geneva in September 2010, in an exceptional setting which is both tranquil and convenient to the city centre.
While Geneva has a number of major international schools, some with several thousand students mainly from the expatriate community, we have chosen to develop a school:
- which is inviting to both the local and expatriate communities
- which provides a truly bilingual French/English curriculum
- which allows for a wide choice of secondary education options
- which is registered as a Christian school
- which values its "family-sized” context.
Our school’s mission is
"The mission of LIA is to challenge students with quality
academics and character development in an immersive
bilingual and Christian value-based environment."
Currently LIA welcomes children from 3 to 12 years old. Now that our primary school has proven itself, our next venture is to develop a bilingual secondary school that would be the logical continuation for our students' schooling and which would allow other students to join us.
The realisation of this mission is fundamentally linked to our team of faculty and non-teaching support staff, all key players at LIA. This is the foundation on which our quality of service is based, both during teaching and non-teaching hours.
Every team member who works with the children, be it in the classroom, the cafeteria or the before- and after-school programs, is guided by a shared attitude of care for our students’ well-being.
Our faculty team is well-established, and has been enriched by several additional teachers since the school’s founding in 2010. This ensures quality in the continuity of instruction and shows proof of well-being at work.
We are a diverse team whose cultural origins and teacher training experiences are varied. The presence of both young and more experienced teachers is another source of enrichment for our student body.
We are a committed team since, for example, a teacher instructs his students over multiple years, so his teaching thus becomes meaningful in the long term. Commitment to LIA entails a comprehensive approach to education that shapes and transforms.
We are a team united around the mission that we pursue together, always striving for consistency as we teach and nurture the children entrusted to us.
