Starring Students
by Rachel Sanchez

Do we wish to see our children shine?
That others will notice that child is mine?
Do we wish for their popularity?
Or just for them being liked generally?

If we can take a moment to reflect,
On this from a different aspect…

A wise man said in an ancient letter,
That we can shine in a way much better.

The trick is simple but far from easy being:
“Do all things without murmur or complaining.”
“What?!” You say, “Could it be true?”
“Is it possible with all we have to do?”

If from One Man, we find our inspiration,
We might shine life, resisting proud temptation.
Ursa Major with its stars aglow
Humbly leads sailors, and so

Our students can make a difference,
By likewise being a reference,
Growing up taking our example
To work and live without a grumble.

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.” Philippiens 2 : 14 & 16
